So was back for our (what seems) annual trip to Honolulu. We just landed around 5:30 PM and managed to get all of our luggage and rental car and head over to the hotel by 6:45 or so. Wanted to eat something but not too much as we were a tad tired so decided to check out Sato as I had always seen it and it was conveniently across from the hotel we were staying at for this round. This joint is on the corner of the street and if you are in doubt, just look for the long line at Maragume and turn left (when facing maragume) and you will hit Sato on the right side. It's a small shop but shouldn't be hard to see. A lot of the clientele seemed to be Japanese folks... although I guess generally there are a lot of Japanese folks but all preceding 3 were Japanese and all subsequent 4 were Japanese as well. This joint was serving poke bowls, Chirashi, hand rolls, etc. They also serve a breakfast menu from what I can tell as well! After a quick peruse, decided to order the Chirashi, the salmon ikura roll, and the yuzi ahi roll. Prices were probably slightly on steeper side but the quality of fish was great and the service was efficient and friendly. The two handrolls each had enough "meat on the bones" and were satisfying for the flavor contrasts and ingredients of the seafood. The Chirashi was great. Enjoyed the quality of the seafood once more and the presentation (yes they put some effort into this even for "to go"). Honestly a very satisfying meal that allowed us to settle into our first night in Hawaii. Definitely support this local business!

The best meal we had during our most recent trip to Hawaii !! We decided to have a snack before our last dinner so I went across the street from where we were staying (The Laylow) and decided to try out a few items on the menu. The Macadamia Aburi Salmon bowl was hands down so delicious. I was so bummed that it was our last full day and we were only now trying this spot. The salmon was perfectly torched and the macadamia nuts provided a nice crunch with every bite. The Garlic Shrimp Hand Roll was also very good. I wish we ate here sooner because I would've loved to try everyone on the menu this trip. I would definitely come back. There was no one in line when I came, but a few people were seated outside finishing up their meal. The woman that took my order was friendly. The place itself is pretty small - there's a drink fridge to the left, a deli looking display in the middle (I'm guessing this holds the onigiri when available) and then the counter where the register is located. No seats inside, just enough space for the counter where you would walk up and place an order. There was a table and seats located outside.

Sato Seafood is perfect for a quick bite if you're craving a fresh hand roll. I ordered the Yuzu Ahi, and it was excellent--super fresh with just the right amount of flavor. Highly recommend for a delicious and convenient meal on the go. Great service as well!

Didn't blow my mind but was good. They have some pretty unique creations. Def prob the only place that has Mac nut in one of their poke options. Yuzu miso is also interesting. Ultimately though it was prob my least favorite maybe cause they didn't put enough sauce. It's good if you want a more simple option. The avocado mentai wasabi shoyu salmon was prob my fav. I'd skip the sato roll. Overall, good poke spot, wouldn't say it's my fav but it def deserves a visit
